bio
I received my BFA from Syracuse University, and graduated with honors. Since Syracuse, I’ve continued my education with life experience.
I caught the travel bug early on. Perhaps it all started when my family moved from California to New York. My mother chose to fly, but my father bought a trailer and took me, my brother and our cat on a 2 month, zig-zagging trip across the country. (My parents honeymoon from NY to CA was enough of cross country experience for my mom. I think her mule ride down the Grand Canyon was the straw that broke the, uh, camel’s back.)
Later, when my brother was stationed in Europe, I jumped at the opportunity to visit him and his family wherever they were. One year, he planned a trip for me and my father to to ring in the New Year in Berlin. Who knew that would be the year that the Berlin wall would come down!
As an avid skier, I have skied some of the world’s greatest mountains.
My passion for photography has taken me to workshops in Tuscany with Joel Meyerowitz and to Lake Como and Venice with John Pfahl.
From Manaus, Brazil to Midland, Texas, work has flown me around the globe to places I never in my wildest dreams thought I be. I treasure the experiences I’ve had working with and learning from the local people on those trips. Especially Andrew, our guide and driver in Cape Town, who saved us from being stabbed and robbed while street casting. He then earned another star when he asked if the then touring REM could hang with us in the van during our trip to the Cape of Good Hope on a down day. I’ll never forget swimming with Michael Stipe… and the penguins.
I live in New York with my husband of 25 years. We both enjoy soaking in the diverse culture the city has to offer and we especially love experiencing the extraordinary creativity at the city’s museums, restaurants and theatres. We also redecorate too much.
